Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of infrared radiation combined with with TCM application on the incidence of urinary retention, catheterization rate and comfort level in patients after anorectal surgery. Methods:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 226 patients who underwent anorectal surgery in the hospital from July 2024 to June 2025. Among them,114 patients admitted from July to December 2024 were included in the control group, and 112 patients admitted from January to June 2025 were included in the observation group. The control group was given TCM application, while the observation group received infrared irradiation on the basis of TCM application. Systematic nursing intervention was implemented for all 226 patients who underwent anorectal surgery in this study, and the incidence of urinary retention, catheterization rate and patient comfort level were compared between the two groups. Results:After the intervention of infrared irradiation combined with TCM application, the incidence of urinary retention and catheterization rate in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the comfort level was higher than that in the control group. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion:Infrared irradiation combined with TCM application has an ideal intervention effect on reducing the incidence of urinary retention after anorectal surgery. It can reduce the catheterization rate after anorectal surgery, improve the postoperative comfort level and satisfaction of patients.
