Application Effect and Analysis of Hyperbaric Oxygen in Prevention and Intervention of Delayed Encephalopathy after Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the clinical application effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the prevention and intervention of delayed encephalopathy in patients with carbon monoxide poisoning,and to explore its repair mechanism for nerve injury and value in improving long-term prognosis.Methods:A total of 86 patients with carbon monoxide poisoning were enrolled and randomly divided into a control group(conventional symptomatic treatment)and an observation group (conventional treatment combined with full-course hyperbaric oxygen intervention),with 43 cases in each group. The incidence of delayed encephalopathy,total treatment effective rate,and changes in NIHSS neurological function scores before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results:The incidence of delayed encephalopathy in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group,the total treatment effective rate was higher,and the improvement range of NIHSS neurological deficit score after treatment was more obvious. The differences in all indicators between groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Early combined standardized hyperbaric oxygen therapy can rapidly increase blood and oxygen supply to brain tissue,relieve hypoxia and edema of brain tissue, eliminate oxygen free radicals,alleviate cerebral inflammatory injury,promote the repair of damaged neurological function, greatly reduce the risk of delayed encephalopathy,decrease cognitive and limb sequelae,and significantly improve the medium- and long-term prognosis of patients. This therapy is safe and reliable with high clinical application value.
